Public relations has drastically changed in recent years. And these changes will only continue as we move forward.
On episode 18 of the FIR on Higher Education podcast, communications thought leader Deirdre Breakenridge shared insights on how professors can prepare students and professionals for these new realities. Deirdre outlined the eight practices for the PR professional and discussed best ways to adopt these characteristics and also offered best practice on deploying hashtags based on her experiences launching the successful #PRstudChat community.
About Deirdre Breakenridge
Deirdre K. Breakenridge is Chief Executive Officer at Pure Performance Communications. A veteran in PR and marketing, Breakenridge has counseled senior level executives at companies including the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Empire Today, Hershey’s, JVC, Marketwired and Siegel+Gale. She is also an adjunct professor at New York University (NYU) and an online instructor at UMASS at Amherst.
Breakenridge is the author of five Financial Times books. Her most recent book, “Social Media and Public Relations: Eight New Practices for the PR Professional,” was published in May 2012 and is available in print and all digital formats.
